First time playing GW since way before the Factions update deal, so I don't know if these problems or old or not.

Started up a new character, while Ascalon was loading up, I heard a really loud "CHHHHHHHT" sound. (sounded kind of like a fireplace, but really loud)

Later on while playing the game, I heard the same sound every so often, but a tad shorter, and smaller scratchy noises. After relogging, all sound went completely gone. Relogged again, sound was back with the problems. I checked the sound settings: Music was maxed, FX were about 1/2, background sound was around 3/4, quality was full. I changed around the settings to different values and the same shit happened.

Only happens in GW...

EDIT: Also updated DirectX today (there was an update in Feb? :|) and tested the sound. DXDiag says everything is OK.

What kind of sound card do you have? Maybe try updating the drivers for it.
